Mari is a Norwegian filmmaker with a background in acting.  She is a writer and director for the teen TV show "VGS" which premiered on Norway's national channel streaming service NRK TV in November 2022. The show became hugely popular and was top of the list of the most popular shows on NRK for weeks following its release. Mari is currently one of the writers for the 3rd season of the popular Netflix show "Home For Christmas".

Mari's short film work has traveled film festivals internationally, among them her thesis film QUEEN, which after its completion in June 2021 won multiple awards.

Mari has participated in multiple talent development programs, including Viken Langstrakt and CineSud's Director's Village through Screen Talent Europe.

As a director Mari's background in acting gives her a unique insight to the work of bringing stories to life in collaboration with her actors. She thrives in the collaborative effort that is creating, and strives to tell stories of the people who are often overlooked. Even though she often tackles serious themes it's important to her that her stories are told with warmth and humor, adding her own comedic touch to her storytelling.
